First lets start out with some of the basic Blogging terms
Posts- are the blog term for articles and they are what the reader will read when they come to your blog ( you are reading a post right now).
A Commenting Feature- A comment feature is where a reader of your post can give you a comment on what you wrote. ( It's just like leaving a comment in Facebook, Myspace, and anyother social networking site.
Links- Links are used if you wrote about or shared information about something from another blog or website then you can add their link ( web address) to your post so that if the reader wants to read more from that persons website or blog then they can just click the link below what you wrote ( the same can happen for you on someone else's blog or website).
Archives- Archives are a list of all the post that you write in your blog. When a reader comes to your blog they can look through your Archive to find ANY topic that you wrote in your blog.
Now that you have those basic ingredients to a blog you will have better understanding of a blog when you read this one or another one.
